Prayer Bulletin for Brazil
Dear CPE Prayer Partners
June 20, 2013 I depart for Rio de Janeiro Brazil to conduct a CPE ministry with my pastor Garret Mourn and five other members of Airdrie, AB White Fields Calvary Chapel. Our host pastor will be Alexandre Silva Vas of the Rio de Janeiro Calvary Chapel. We will be joined by long time friend and former missionary to Brazil, Joan Walker [click on link for prayer card]. This will be our second ministry in Rio and a reunion of significant portions. I discipled Joan as a new Christian when we both were involved with the Beulah Alliance Evangelism Explosion ministry in Edmonton, AB. As a new missionary to Brazil, Joan discipled Alexandre and his wife Lilian when they were new believers. Pastors Garret and Alexandre both began their pastoral posts with Calvary Chapel church plants. Disciples making disciples - what a joy to be a spiritual grandparent!
From Rio I will make my way to Sao Jose dos Campos for another meaningful and joyful reunion [click on link for prayer card]. This will be our fourth ministry with host pastor Sergio Pinto of the Vista Verge Alliance Church. A portion of this team will minister in Vista Verge’s most recent church plant. The other team members will be assigned to work with various cell group contacts of the host church. I will be privileged to meet and work with spiritual grandchildren in this location as well.
Please pray for...
- Team unity of focus, health and teachable hearts.
- CPE Mission trips are designed to have reciprocal discipling strategies for the host church members and CPE travelers. Pray this goal will be achieved during all ministry locations.
- Pray that in the months ahead the church plant and host church will see significant numbers of individuals discipled, baptized and added to their respective congregations as a result of this ministry.
- Pray that these new church plants will grow to become self supporting and a strong spiritual lighthouse in this target community.
I echo Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 6:19... “pray on our behalf, that utterance may be given to us in the opening of our mouths, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.”
We anticipate God’s rich blessing for both of these ministries.
